Carlisle Barracks Exchange Opens Its First Two Unattended Retail Units
The Carlisle Barracks Army & Air Force Exchange Service bought greater service and convenience to the community with the unveiling of two new unattended retail units this month.
The first market on the installation was opened at the newly renovated U.S. Army War College. War College Root Hall Deputy Chief of Staff Timothy Keasling joined Carlisle Barracks PX General Manager Leazel Williams in cutting the ribbon on the convenience market on Feb. 9.
“The Exchange is happy to be able to meet command’s request for more food options for our students, visitors and personnel at the War College,” Williams said at the grand opening. “The Exchange is committed to expanding options and providing greater convenience to help improve quality of life for the Carlisle Barracks community.”
On Feb. 23, the Carlisle Barracks Exchange opened its second unattended retail unit, located in the Dunham Army Health Clinic, to bring fresh and healthy food options to staff, patients and visitors at the clinic.
The unmanned retail market offers meals, snacks and hot and cold beverages, including better-for-you options such as salads, wraps, fresh fruit, protein bars, breakfast burritos and more. A limited selection of over-the-counter medicines is also available.
