Amber Schroeder
Services Operations Assistant
Fort Leonard Wood Exchange

Amber oversees the vending operations for Fort Leonard Wood, including the hot new market of unattended retail units. In her six months of being with us, she has pushed our Services results to amazing levels! Amber has overseen the installation of five new unattended retail units with scheduled openings of one per month for the next year. She is actively seeking new locations across the installation and recently participated in a briefing to the Fort Leonard Wood Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Christopher Beck on his tour of our facilities. Her newest opening in a Marine barracks exceeded all estimates, posting $30,000 in sales in the first 21 days of operation!  Maj. Gen. Beck was impressed with the operation of the unit—giving Amber and the team great praise for the way they were able to adjust the product offerings overnight, accommodating a healthier food lineup. During 2023, the six Fort Leonard Wood unattended retail units racked up an impressive result of more than $551,000 in sales and approximately $49,500 in income. Amber has been instrumental in helping the Exchange grow the unattended retail unit business and bring in a greater level of convenience to the Fort Leonard Wood community.
