OPERATION: Call Out—Eastern Region

COO-OperationCallout-Marla

Eastern Region proudly recognizes Ginalyn Nazareno, Jimmy Nieves and Maya Sydes for their contributions and support of the Exchange mission. The focus on customer service is a priority, and it shows in the results! Thanks for all you do!

Ginalyn Nazareno
Military Clothing Store Receiver
Hurlburt Field

Gina actively monitors reports from the Dan Daniel and Waco distribution centers and has a superb attention to detail when receiving items. She understands prioritizing our customers. Striving to meet their needs and expectations can lead to a customer’s loyalty, positive word of mouth and the Exchange’s success. One customer commented:  “Gina at the clothing store was extremely helpful!  She really went the extra mile to help me with issues I was having with my Blues. Without her help, I’m not sure what I would have done.”  Hurlburt Military Clothing store’s year-to-date sales increased by 5.3% with earnings before depreciation of 11.2% year-to-date.

Jimmy Nieves
Services Business Manager
Fort Buchanan

Jimmy has aggressively been working to provide our customers a variety of products and services at the mall to complement what is currently available at the PX and PxTra. He has focused his efforts on securing services desperately needed at the Puerto Rico Exchange. After many rejections by local companies, Jimmy found two potential sources for cell and internet services, a company offering mailing services for the military community, and an ice cream shop offering popular local flavors for anyone looking for a sweet treat. The new ice cream shop is on track to exceed $20,000 in its first month!  By engaging with concessionaires and holding them to high standards, Jimmy is ensuring our customers have a facility that is all about them.

Maya Sydes
Main Post Burger King Foreman
Fort Moore

Maya’s strong leadership skills and attention to detail have been instrumental in many of the improvements at the Main Post Burger King. Her contributions have helped the management team achieve an increase in sales of $146,000 or 11% above last year and decrease personnel cost $23,000 or 3% below last year. Maya’s leadership and efforts led to an improvement in productivity from $8,102 in fiscal year 2022 to $9,828 in fiscal year 2023, as well as an increase in earnings that are $157,000 above last year. Thank you, Maya!
