Camp San Luis Obispo Opens First Unattended Retail Unit
Service members at Camp San Luis Obispo can enjoy quick and easy dining options thanks to a new unattended retail unit (URU) now open on post.
The URU offers convenient access to beverages, snacks, sandwiches, wraps, fresh fruit, personal care items and more.
A ribbon-cutting was attended by more than a dozen personnel from the California National Guard and Vandenberg Space Force Base Exchange, including Lt. Col. Annabelle Andrade, Camp San Luis Obispo garrison commander; Maj. Graham Wintzer, 223rd Regional Training Institute; Urvi Acharya, Vandenberg Exchange general manager; and Maribel Ceja, Vandenberg Exchange services business manager.
The original home of the California National Guard, Camp San Luis Obispo is about 60 miles north of Vandenberg SFB, which oversees its Exchange operations. The URU joins an Express store on the compound.
“The new unattended retail unit is an excellent addition to the Exchange facilities at Camp San Luis Obispo,” Acharya said. “Ensuring that service members on the post have access to quick, easy and better-for-you options is vital to their Quality-of-Life and readiness.”
The post serves as a live, virtual and constructive training site for Army National Guard and Reserve Units, hosting rotating units of Guard members, Reservists and Soldiers for training exercises.
