MILITARY STAR Challenge Cup First-Quarter Winners Announced

While the Columbus Air Force Base Exchange and Europe Region are still basking in the glow that reflects off their 2023 MILITARY STAR_® Challenge Cups, the 2024 competition is well underway.

Stores are once again competing to increase their MILITARY STAR numbers—both new accounts and card usage—over the previous year. Quarterly winners in each region win $500 for a team event. The top store for all of FY2024 will receive a $1,000 prize and the coveted Challenge Cup. The leading region for the year will also be presented with a trophy.

“The Challenge Cup competition really brought out the best in our associates and store teams last year,” said Exchange Credit Program Senior Vice President Tommy Ward. “We’re already seeing great results from Q1 and can’t wait to cheer on the friendly competition throughout the year.”

Here’s how the Q1 leaderboard stands:

• Western: Fort Carson
• Central: JBSA Fort Sam Houston
• Eastern: Carlisle Barracks
• Europe: Aviano AB
• Pacific: Schofield Barracks

Results are calculated using the average of each Exchange’s year-over-year percentage change in both new cardmember acquisitions and card usage. The winners of the yearlong contest will be announced at the Retail, Food and Services Managers Conference in 2025.
