Dallas Voice Publisher is Guest Speaker for Upcoming Lunch and Learn
Leo Cusimano has a voice and he can show you how to use yours during PRIDE’s Lunch and Learn at 11 a.m. Central, Thursday, on Teams. A reminder was sent out via email, but associates can join here. Cusimano will discuss the importance of Pride Month and the protections in place for LGBTQ+ people.
Cusimano is the president and publisher of Dallas Voice and OUT North Texas, a community magazine with an LGBTQ+ focus. The magazine was founded in 1984 and has evolved to become a trusted source for news and entertainment in the local community. Dallas Voice is also a founding member of News Is Out, a national collaborative of leading local queer news publishers.
Cusimano has been with the Dallas Voice and OUT North Texas for more than 30 years. He has been featured at numerous LGBTQ+ marketing conventions and symposiums. He is also the producer of the Wedding Party & EXPO, the largest wedding trade show in Texas designed to reach the emerging LGBTQ+ wedding market.
In addition to his work, Cusimano participates in other local community organizations based in North Texas and nationwide, including Couples National Network, Dallas Pride, Couples Metro Dallas, and more. He is a founding member of the North Texas LGBT Chamber and has served on the marketing committee for Visit Dallas, a nonprofit promoting Dallas as a premier business and leisure destination. He has been honored as the grand marshal for Dallas Pride. He is also the director of the Family PRIDE Zone, an LGBTQ+ family event held during Pride Month.
Cusimano, a New Orleans native, graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in marketing. In 1981, he met his partner, whom he has been with for 42 years, and they legally married in 2015 – the year the U.S. Supreme Court recognized the right to marry. Together, they adopted two children.
