OPERATION: Call Out—Central Region

Operation: Call Out logo and art (associates at work).

These Central Region associates understand the meaning of Family Serving Family and Serving the Best Customers in the World.  They go above and beyond to ensure that the Exchange is providing service and a taste of home no matter where they serve. Thank you, Ronald Mates, Courtney Betts and Virginia Hood.

Ronald Mates
Customer Experience Associate
JBSA-Lackland AFB

Ronnie continues to provide extraordinary customer service daily and leaves an impression on the Lackland main store customers and his teammates. A customer recently assisted in Powerzone sought out a manager to compliment Ronnie. The customer said, “please acknowledge Ronald. He is the utmost professional and went above and beyond to help me with my purchase.” When the customer was called to thank her for the positive comment about Ronald, she said he was so respectful and courteous and she really appreciated his assistance with her Samsung television. She also jokingly said not to promote him yet because she needs him in PowerZone!  Ronnie epitomizes our core value of “Family Serving Family,” and we are proud to have him as a teammate at the Lackland Exchange!

Courtney Betts
Services Operations Assistant
Fort Cavazos

Courtney has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill in her role, particularly in her recent accomplishment of organizing Fort Cavazos’ highest sales event to date. Courtney’s efforts resulted in nearly $40,000 in sales for a base event (Freedom Fest), a remarkable achievement that showcases her strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. She effectively coordinated with short-term and long-term vendors to ensure the success of the event, working closely with the base MWR team to achieve a profit of more than $5,000 for a six-hour event. Courtney’s contributions have been invaluable to our team, and her expertise in organizing and planning events with our concessionaires has significantly enhanced our operations.

Virginia Hood
Customer Experience Associate
Leavenworth Exchange/Express

“Family serving family” is one of the Exchange’s most important core values. Mrs. Hood lives it each day that she walks in the door of Leavenworth Express. During her almost three-year tenure at the Express, her caring attitude and nature has come through every day, whether she is interacting with her teammates, customers or management. Virginia does an amazing job of supporting new associates as they acclimate to their Exchange roles. She takes them under her wing, mentoring them and showing them what it takes to be the best! Virginia is a team player, willing to take on any task within the facility with pride and enthusiasm. She sets the bar when managing the self-checkout terminals, making sure to ask customers if they are using their MILITARY STAR card, and ensures that her customers have a positive experience, always helping when needed. Being the spouse of a retired service member, Virginia feels a special connection to Exchange customers, and goes above and beyond to make sure they feel valued. She epitomizes our core value of Family Serving Family, and we are very grateful and proud that she is a member of the Leavenworth Express team.
