Exchange Opens Military Clothing Store at U.S. Southern Command Headquarters
DALLAS – The Exchange is making building a military uniform easier for Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines and Coast Guard members assigned to U.S. Army Garrison-Miami with its new Military Clothing store at U.S. Southern Command headquarters.
The store provides greater convenience by using U.S. Southern Command headquarters’ easily accessible location for service members assigned to the garrison in Doral, Florida. The nearest Exchange-operated Military Clothing store is at Homestead Air Force Reserve Base, about a 45-minute drive from Miami.
Sgt. Maj. Rafael Rodriguez, U.S. Southern Command senior enlisted leader, joined Exchange General Manager Thea Sarver in a ribbon-cutting to open the store Sept. 13.
“To address the needs of service members assigned to U.S. Army Garrison-Miami and in anticipation of future personnel, command leaders and the Exchange recognized the need to have a Military Clothing store in an easily accessible location,” Sarver said.
The Exchange operates Military Clothing stores on behalf of the Services and is the only official source for authentic, government-certified uniforms. The Exchange follows all applicable regulations as they pertain to the sale of uniforms and other items. Military Clothing stores are Berry Amendment-compliant, providing service members with affordable, high-quality uniforms and items manufactured in the U.S.
The 1,175-square-foot Military Clothing store has self-checkout and a patriotic-themed environment. The store also offers tailoring. The store replaced the barbershop, which moved to another space at the headquarters.
