Deadline Extended! Nation’s Network Seeks New Logo, Slogan
Nation’s Network, a special emphasis program, is inviting Team Exchange to participate in its logo design and slogan contest—and the deadline has been extended to Oct. 25.
The contest reflects a wider effort to update logos across the Exchange’s special emphasis programs.
Judges are looking for a meaningful and inclusive symbol. Participants should consider including symbols such as feathers, medicine wheels, circles and eagles.
- Circle: Represents the interconnectedness and unity of all federally recognized tribes.
- Medicine wheel: Stands for spirituality, unity, balance, good health and wellbeing.
- Feather: Highlights the cultural heritage, wisdom and strength of Native American peoples; feathers are typically placed within a circle.
- Eagle: Represents honor, strength, courage, bravery and freedom.
For the slogan, judges are looking to emphasize unity and acknowledge diversity. Slogans should be simple and easy to remember.
To be considered for entry, participants must create two versions of their logo – one in Exchange colors and one with vibrant colors. To submit an entry, participants must submit a high-resolution .jpeg, .png or .PDF file to DiversityInclusion@AAFES.com. Use the format “Logo/Slogan Contest – Nation’s Network – Name of Associate” on the subject line.
Participants may submit an entry for either category. It is not required to submit both a logo and a slogan to qualify.
Entries are due Oct. 25. The winner will receive a Director/CEO or COO challenge coin and a Thanks Award of $250. The winner will be announced Nov. 5 during National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month.
“Ensuring Indigenous associates feel seen and recognized is paramount for Nation’s Network,” said Senior Vice President, logistics, and Nation’s Network Executive Champion Alan French. “The contest provides a great opportunity to showcase unity and respect in a creative and meaningful way.”
