What You Need to Know About Your Benefits Elections
Open Enrollment begins Nov. 1, and continues through Nov. 30. Associates are encouraged to review their existing benefit elections and decide whether election changes are right for them. All elections made will become effective Jan. 1.
Remember to visit ALEX® at www.myalex.com/exchange/home. ALEX® helps associates decide which plans best fit their needs. ALEX® can also be found in Employee Self Service under the Family & Benefits section.
For those who don’t plan to make changes, no action is required. However, associates who would like to maintain their Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) are required to enroll each year.
When associates are ready to make elections, they should visit eBenefits in Employee Self Service under the Family & Benefits section. There is a dropdown menu under “Benefit Elections” where they can choose to make elections for open enrollment or talk to Alex® for assistance.
As the cost of healthcare continues to increase, this is a great time to consider enrolling in a Health Care FSA. These before-tax contributions can be used to help cover co-pays, prescriptions, over the counter medicine, and much more. For associates in the US who are enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan, an HSA is offered in place of an FSA to help with those expenses.
Completing health incentives now earns associates money on a debit card to use for eligible health care expenses. As health incentives are completed throughout the year, associates’ Inspira (formerly PayFlex) debit card will be loaded with the incentive monies earned. If associates don’t have an Inspira card, one will be mailed. These funds can be used to pay for the same healthcare eligible expenses that are allowed with an FSA and HSA. As an example, associates can receive $150 in incentive credits by completing a metabolic screening no later than Nov. 30 each year.
As a reminder, Quest Diagnostics will be at the Exchange HQ Nov. 13 and Nov. 14 to offer a free and confidential metabolic screening. Sign up at my.questforhealth.com. User registration key is DOD2024. Enter your Aetna W# on your Aetna insurance card. If an associate’s spouse would like to join, enter the Aetna W# with an S after the W#.
Make sure to check out the new NAF Health Plans site! It has a fresh new look, but associates can still find information on how to earn money by completing the health incentives, all plan documents, information on the Medicare Advantage with Prescription Drug (MAPD), and much more.
As a reminder, every year Aetna holds calls to review all new plan information. Make sure to join to hear all the new changes for 2025 including three new programs that are being offered. Please see the call schedule below.
Associates can contact HRSC if they have questions (HRSC@aafes.com; 214-312-6190).
