Exchange’s Enhanced Ultra-Wideband 5G Connectivity Delivers Greater Speed, Connectivity at Fort Cavazos
The Fort Cavazos Exchange is keeping military families connected with a new ultra-wideband 5G network. The network offers faster, more reliable internet service for the Fort Cavazos community.
With the small-cell technology, the Exchange aims to better connect troops with their loved ones while supporting mission-critical communications needs.
The ultra-wideband 5G service builds on existing 5G coverage but introduces higher speeds and greater efficiency for those within range of the new small cells. The coverage in partnership with Boldyn Networks is exclusive to users on the installation and in proximity to these cells, ensuring focused, high-performance connectivity.
“Enhanced 5G addresses a key Quality-of-Life concern for Soldiers and families,” said Fort Cavazos Exchange General Manager CJ Morganfield. “Staying connected is critical for the community, whether for maintaining relationships or for operational purposes, and the Exchange is excited to deliver this capability to the Fort Cavazos community.”
Fort Cavazos is among several installations benefiting from similar initiatives, as more projects are underway across the continental United States to improve carrier connectivity and bring next-generation wireless capabilities to more Army installations. The Exchange team is awaiting opportunities to utilize resources to further support the Army and Air Force’s efforts for 5G enhancements.
Plans for further expansions and enhancements are ongoing, ensuring that personnel on Fort Cavazos continue to experience higher-quality communication capabilities.
