Team Exchange’s Hard Work Pays Off in a Successful Black Friday Weekend
Team,
Months of hard work across the Exchange paid off as Black Friday weekend sales were up more than 2% vs. 2023.
The Merchandising, eComm, Logistics and Store Operations teams, working closely with all five regions, spend months preparing for this annual event, which is executed by store teammates worldwide who are passionate about serving the best customers in the world.
The biggest increase came at our main stores, with sales of $42.6 million vs. $38.1 million in 2023—a 12% increase. Although Black Friday is thought of as a day when people line up before doors open, customer traffic shifted and was strong later in the day—reflecting a focus on family shopping and on the Exchange as a destination for the heroes we are honored to serve.
The Exchange’s evolving promotional strategies and fantastic offerings drove foot traffic to bolster all categories. Demand was strongest for audio products, which were up 65% from 2023. Fragrances were up about 40%. Cosmetics, jewelry and footwear were also popular.
These positive results are yet another step forward in a year when your hard work to advance our strategic priorities has given us incredible momentum as we move through the holidays and into fiscal 2025.
Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season and a prosperous New Year.
Family Serving Family!
Very best,
Tom Shull
