Customer Shoutouts: These Associates Rock!

I am a service member from Vilseck, Germany, deployed to the Bemowo Piskie Training Area in Poland for six months. The Polish associates with the mobile field exchange are extremely helpful. They are always courteous, professional to a fault, and will go out of your way to make sure you have the best experience possible. Robert, in particular, was phenomenal. When I asked him if the Exchange trailer carried white boards, he said it did not, but he went out into the Polish economy to get one for me. I have never encountered such a high degree of service anywhere else in the world. The Polish employees of the Exchange deserve high praise.

Stephanie Fugman

I want to recognize Stephanie Fugman of the Aliamanu Express for providing exceptional customer service. This past Saturday, my mom was at Aliamanu when her car died in the parking lot. My mom doesn’t own a cell phone, so she went to the Express to ask to use theirs. Stephanie was kind enough to let my mom use the phone. My mom called me at home, but I missed her call. I called the number back and Stephanie told me about my mom’s situation. I asked her, if she didn’t mind, if she would tell my mom that I was on my way. I felt bad to inconvenience her to go outside to tell my mom, but she did. When I arrived at the store, my mom and I went inside to grab drinks, and Stephanie came to ensure that my mom was okay and to ask about her car. I was extremely impressed by Stephanie’s desire to assist, genuine concern for my mom’s safety, and pleasant personality. Stephanie truly is an example of “Family Serving Family!”

Betty White and Norma Delancey

I retired at Fort Meade 45 years ago. Today, my wife and I visited the main PX for only the second time. The first time was shortly after it opened a few years ago. We were very favorably impressed with virtually every aspect, from the general layout, cleanliness, volume and variety of products. Most of all, we were impressed by the cheerful and helpful attitudes of every associate we encountered. Twice, when we asked where certain items would be, the associates responded, “I will take you there.” In most off-post stores, you cannot find a clerk except when standing in the cashier line! Most of all, we especially commend associate Betty White for her courtesy and going the extra mile to find a copy of the promo mailer and clarify that the Annin Flag I wanted did not go on sale until Nov. 3. Both she and Norma Delaney are a credit to the Fort Meade Exchange. We will visit more often!

I was shopping at Fort Hood main exchange in the toy section looking for a Polar Express train set, which was on sale. I did not find the toy, so I asked Lorraine if they had it. She said she would check in the back, but to give her 15 minutes since a lot of toys had recently come in. When she returned, she said there were a lot of toys back there and it could take a while but for me to give her my name and number and she would give me a call once it was located. The very next day, I received a voice mail on which she said that the train was at customer service for me and ready for pick up. I thank Lorraine for going above and beyond and showing excellent customer service. Thank you for keeping your word and “Happy Holidays!”

Wanda Thomas and Jacob Mauga

At the Fort Richardson Subway, the service I receive daily has been excellent. Two associates in particular, Wanda and Jacob, make my visit to Subway extremely pleasant. They always find ways to engage in a conversation while still working fast. They know customers by name and remember their favorite orders. These associates should be recognized for the way that they take pride in their work, for getting customers through the line fast and for their present attitudes.
