The Inspector General’s team is here to help you achieve your daily operations and to protect and preserve the Exchange benefit for Soldiers, Airmen and their families.

The IG is not out to “get anyone,” although the IG does investigate wrongdoing that could lead to disciplinary actions.

One way that the IG office can help is through staff assistance visits (SAVs).

SAVs check for program compliance; identify and resolve shortfalls; and provide guidance to associates and managers that can improve work areas.

With impartial eyes, the IG office often discovers details that are overlooked.

SAVs provide opportunities to improve the Exchange by increasing effectiveness and efficiencies—and even the smallest adjustments can add up to massive monetary savings or growth throughout the year.

Additionally, the IG uses these visits to determine the organization’s morale level. Whether toxic leadership, non-conducive work environments or nonsensical processes, managers and associates get opportunities to correct the problems, but first they must know via an SAV that their areas have problems.

The IG office helps make the Exchange a better place to work and improve the Soldiers, Airmen and families’ quality of lives through goods and services.

If you want help bettering your area, contact the Office of the IG by email, call 800-527-6789 or visit the IG’s portal.
