One in a series honoring the Exchange’s 125 years of family serving family.

Taylor Myers, a financial analyst at Exchange Headquarters, earned his wings in the Air Force as B-52 crew chief and spent eight years as a reservist as an F-16 crew chief. His family lifeline to the Exchange, though, has 87 years of service.

Taylor Myers, who served in the Air Force, is a financial analyst for the Exchange and has an 87-year history of family service to the Exchange.

His grandmother retired after 23 years as the Military Clothing Store manager at Fort Riley. His father retired after 39 years with the Exchange – spending most of it in the field – and his mother retired after 15 years as an IT technician at headquarters.

“Having a family connection has been beneficial,” he said. “It allows me to be able to view our business from different perspectives.”

For the past 10 years, Myers has called the Exchange home, and he appreciates its mission.

“Military service in my family goes back to my great-grandfather,” he said. “Both of my grandfathers retired from the Army, my sister served for six years as an Army nurse and my brother-in-law served eight.

“I believe the Exchange makes a difference in the service members’ lives.”

The Exchange also ingrained in him an appreciation for serving the customer, he said.

“Take care of your customer like you would your family,” he said. “I try to remember that every day.”

Facebook-friendly version: Taylor Myers has a long line of family members who served in the military and later dedicated a collective 87 years to the Exchange.
