126 Years of Family Serving Family – Pam and Courtney Boston, Fort Knox

One in a series honoring the Exchange’s 126 years of family serving family

To say Pamela Boston comes from a proud Army family would be an understatement. Her husband, Staff Sgt. Gregory K. Boston, served 20 years in the Army; her father served four years; her father-in-law served 30 years; and all three of her sisters-in-law have served, as well.

Pam Boston, left, has worked for the Exchange for 32 years and is currently a warehouse receiver at the Fort Knox Military Clothing store. Her daughter Courtney, right, is a customer experience associate at the store and has been with the Exchange for five years.

It’s no surprise, then, that Pam has served the military community as an Exchange associate. Thirty-two years ago, she started as a snack bar worker in Baumholder, Germany, and now works as a warehouse receiver at the Fort Knox Military Clothing store. Her service continues to be a family affair—daughter Courtney is a customer experience associate at the Fort Knox Exchange Military Clothing store and has been with the Exchange for five years. Working with Courtney is a family-serving-family aspect of the job that Pam loves.

“It’s really convenient, and we grow closer every day,” said Pam, who has been at the Fort Knox Exchange for 23 years. “I enjoy sharing knowledge and my AAFES journey with her.”

Her career has taken her from Germany to Fort Riley to Fort Hood and now Fort Knox, and she’s enjoyed each Exchange along the way, especially the people she’s met.

“We support one another,” Pamela said. “At the Exchange, our mission is clear: we are here to serve our troops.”
