Team Exchange forged into new territory last weekend as they spread the Exchange relevancy message to runners at the Air Force Marathon for the first time in the race’s 26-year history.

The team spent time at the marathon expo and at the race, handing out bags, carabiners, protein cookies and a specially designed Air Force Marathon towel to runners and families alike. An Exchange MFE was also on site, which race attendees toured and learned how the Exchange enhances Warfighters’ moral readiness and resiliency in remote locations and during natural disasters.

Roy Montez, the Exchange’s BE FIT 360 ambassador, was on hand to ensure that runners were aware of the importance and emphasis the Exchange places on a healthy lifestyle.

“Having the Exchange at this event underscores our commitment to empowering military shoppers and their families and the broader military community to make healthy lifestyle choices,” said Montez, who participated in the 10K portion of the race. “BE FIT 360 principles and values are rooted throughout the Exchange from better-for-you snack and meal choices in our restaurants and Expresses, BE FIT 360 concept shops, wellness offerings and more.”

The race was held at Wright-Patterson AFB, and the WPAFB Exchange team spent months ahead of the event planning and coordinating with race officials to ensure a prominent Exchange presence.

“I can’t say enough about the hard work and elbow grease that our associates have dedicated to this race over the past few months,” said WPAFB Exchange General Manager Adam Shaw. “That hard work definitely paid off as we were able reach thousands of runners and their families, reinforcing the fact that the Exchange is there for them at every stage of their career, no matter where they are called to serve.”
