OPERATION: Call Out—Central Region

Operation Call Out

These Central Region associates understand the meaning of Family Serving Family and Serving the Best Customers in the World. They go above and beyond to ensure that the Exchange is providing service and a taste of home no matter where they serve. Thank you, Kaya Mack, Malaysia Wilkins and Alma Pena.

Kaya Mack
Starbucks Manager
Sheppard Air Force Base

Kaya is a great leader, passionate, hard-working and always happy to mentor her associates. She is outgoing and always puts her customers first. She recently took on the extra responsibility of being the acting food court manager. Kaya’s joyous presence and positive attitude light up the food court.  She is a true asset to our Exchange family!

Malaysia Wilkins
Inventory Control Associate
Fort Riley/McConnell Air Force Base

Malaysia joined the Exchange in 2018, looking for the opportunity to improve herself and serve others. Being the driven person she is, she started at the McConnell main store as a laborer and later that year moved up to store assistant. In August 2019, Malaysia accepted the position of inventory control associate and in 2020 served as a temporary department manager. She is currently developing herself to be a supervisor and eventually wants to be department manager or sales area manager. Malaysia has received multiple awards for her dedication to the Exchange mission and we are honored to have her as part of our team!

Alma Pena
Services Business Manager
Redstone Arsenal/Columbus Air Force Base

Alma has worn many hats during her 18 years with the Exchange: general manager’s administrative assistant; Burger King manager and foreman; and now, services business manager for Redstone and Columbus Exchanges. During COVID, we had a severe staff shortage. Alma never gave excuses or shied away from extra responsibilities. She would spend half of her day working at one of our food facilities, then go change her clothes to complete her daily tasks as the services business manager—never falling short of her responsibilities. Alma has an exceptional working relationship throughout both Exchanges with command and the community. She has recently opened 12 nano markets at Columbus and three micro ,arkets at Redstone.  Our year-to-date services sales are $1.1 million or 2% above last year and our income is $66,000 or 3% above last year.  Alma’s knowledge and experience has been instrumental in working to improve our Services & Food programs. She is the epitome of a team player, is dedicated to taking care of our customers, and her achievements have made a lasting impact on the organization. Way to go, Alma!
